Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers about how Fare Sighted works.
- What does Fare Sighted actually do?
- Fare Sighted watches flight prices for routes you care about. You set a destination, travel window, and the fare that would get you to book. We scan publicly available fare data and email you when a trip lines up with your budget and trip limits.
- Do you sell flights or tickets?
- No. Fare Sighted never takes bookings or payments. When a fare looks right, we send you to the airline's own site or to a metasearch partner like Google Flights so you can complete the purchase directly.
- Where does the fare data come from?
- We combine multiple public and commercial flight-data sources, including Google Flights results through SerpApi and broad deal data from travel APIs. Prices are snapshots: they can change before you reach the booking site.
- How often do you check fares?
- Active watches are scanned daily. You can also open a watch and trigger a manual refresh, but we limit refreshes to keep search costs reasonable and accurate.
- Why is the fare I see on Fare Sighted different from the airline's site?
- Airline prices change constantly. A fare we found moments ago may already be gone, or the airline may add fees for bags, seats, or payment methods that our snapshot did not include. Always confirm the final price before booking.
- Can I search business or first class?
- Yes. When you create a watch you can choose Economy, Premium Economy, Business, or First. We do our best to verify that the results we surface match the cabin you selected, but always double-check the booking site.
- What is a 'Drop Everything' watch?
- A Drop Everything watch is for flexible travelers who are ready to book anytime a great fare appears. Instead of fixed dates, it watches a rolling window up to 11 months out and alerts you when a trip fits your budget and trip-length limits.
- How do I stop alerts?
- Every alert email includes an unsubscribe link. You can also pause or delete individual watches from your Watch List, or delete your account from Settings to stop all emails and remove your data.
- Do you store my payment information?
- No. We never collect or store credit cards, billing addresses, or other payment details. Booking happens entirely on the airline or metasearch site.
- How do I delete my account?
- Go to Settings and choose the account-deletion option. This removes your watches, alert preferences, and profile data from our systems.
